Issure #7

I think that there is a double standard when it comes to women in politics. Most of the political scandals that you hear about are related to men in politics but those are soon forgotten and pushed aside. Scandals involving women in politics are often overblown and used to hurt personally not just professionally. I think it was ok for Ball to compare herself to Hillary Clinton but only in the way they handled their situations, both did that with dignity and class. Besides that she should not compare herself with Clinton because of the magnitude of the scandal that her husband put her in, racy photos are nothing compared to multiple extramarital affairs.

The vast technology that is available today makes it extremely hard to keep everything private from the outside world. Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc. are all being used by the younger generation to keep in touch with friends and family but users must be aware of the context of information and pictures that they allow others to see. A simple Friday night out with friends could come back to haunt you years later with a potential employer. That being said alot can change in a person in 6 years and I don't think those pictures should have any kind of impact on her race for the Senate seat and should be able to dictate her life in the future.
