Power Point (good/bad)

Elisabeth Bumiller asserts that power points provide less information and in military briefings it gives the illusion of information, but i could cause misunderstandings because it lacks vital information. They spend a lot of time putting together power points that don't manage to get the details and points across to the people they are presenting it to. Power points become very useful when a presentor speaks about them in more detail and uses power point to highlight the main points.
I had a class once where PowerPoint was the main tool used in communicating what we needed to know but the teacher would just read off the slides so nobody paid attention because it bored us. I have also been in classes where PowerPoint is used and for the most part was very helpful to link things together, give examples of what the teacher was talking about, and show photos that accompany the topic the teacher was talking about.
I think that PowerPoint can be a useful tool when someone wants to highlight main points of a speech or show photos relating to the topic they are speaking about; as long as they add more detail with their speech. I do believe though that PowerPoint is useless when the speaker does not accompany important details of speech or link everything together.
