Blog #3 Powerpoint

Though technology is important, perhaps it is becoming too prevalent in America's everyday activities. Powerpoint is an awesome teaching tool when dealing with simple things. But as the information becomes more complex the helpfulness of powerpoint dwindles. I was in the medical squadron of the Air National Guard and I recall putting together a powerpoint to explain CPR. Maybe it is just me but CPR is definitely a hands-on type activity. I feel the military should stick to the old school slide machines and overhead projectors for the complicated things. Whatever makes it easier to understand. After all, these are the people putting their lives on the line for us. The article mentioned an army platoon leader spending most of his time making powerpoints, doesn't the military have better ways to spend their time? Keep the powerpoints for the media presentations but find a more informative, less confusing way to brief the troops.
